Abstract | The description of benthic Graptolithina of the Guole Biota provides a first insight into the diversification of the late Cambrian (Furongian) graptolites as few faunas have been described from the interval, sometimes termed the Furongian Gap. Species of the families Rhabdopleuridae (Rhabdopleura sp.), Dendrograptidae (Dendrograptus sp.), Callograptidae (Callograptus sp.) and Dithecodendridae (Siberiograptus kotujensis) are recognized. The so far earliest species of the genus Rhabdopleura has been discovered, growing on the shell fragments of ?Sphenothallus sp. The dithecodendrid species Siberiograptus kotujensis represents the first record of this genus from China and indicates a wider biogeographic distribution of the taxon. An even higher species level diversity of the Graptolithina can be expected from this preliminary report as several quite distantly related family level taxa have been recognized.
